For years, 7-year-old D’Lany, who is from St. Thomas, has bravely battled a hematologic disorder each day. That’s why his greatest wish was to travel to Walt Disney World® to be a brave prince and meet all of his favorite characters.
D’Lany enjoyed an extra special treat, being invited to participate in the Something mAAgic Foundation’s mAAgic Flight, which supports Make-A-Wish by flying wish children and their families from around the world on American Airlines and American Eagle flights to Central Florida.
The mAAgic flight is no ordinary ride in an airplane, however. The party kicked off with a celebration at the St. Thomas airport, followed by volunteers cheering for D’Lany when he landed at the Orlando airport. Once in Orlando, D’Lany dove headfirst into adventure, conquering all of the theme parks with front-of-the-line passes to each and every ride.
Even the most courageous prince needs some time to kick back and relax. After meeting his favorite characters and fulfilling his regal duties, D’Lany and his family spent their nights at the Give Kids The World Village, a special resort designed solely for wish families. There, Something mAAgic hosted a party for all of the wish families at the Village with carnival games, character meet-and-greets, dancing and entertainment. It was an experience D’Lany and his family will never forget.
