Being home-schooled, nine-year-old Markis was itching to go out and see the world. The first place he wanted to visit was none other than Walt Disney World®.
Markis’ travels began when he boarded the flight to Orlando. He was greeted by the pilot and the flight attendants. They let him sit in the pilot’s seat, which Markis could not believe. The surprises only continued, especially when they arrived at Give Kids The World Village. Even though Christmas had passed a couple days before, the jolly holiday spirit of the season was thriving. He took pictures with the Christmas tree and showed off his awesome Spider-Man rolling backpack.
Throughout seven days on his wish, Markis got to explore the magic of Disney, the wonders of LEGOLAND®, the adventurous rides at Universal Studios and the entertaining attractions at Sea World. Markis loved flexing his muscles with the Hulk and posing with a Transformer. Even with all the ornate opportunities the Orlando parks offered, Markis was simply satisfied with the fact that he was finally given delicious gluten-free food, which is hard to find on the island of St. Croix.
“With being able to experience the different parks, rides and areas, it truly was a dream come true. We greatly appreciated every moment spent,” his mother said.
