For 9-year-old Asia from St. Croix, it was a dream come true to travel to Walt Disney World® because she had never been to an amusement park before. Her grandmother said, “she always used to talk about it.”
Asia, who battles a hematologic disorder, had her one true wish granted when she traveled to the most magical place on Earth alongside her mother, grandmother, sister and two brothers.
While in Orlando, Asia and her family got to explore all the Disney parks and SeaWorld too. Her favorite part of the wish was getting to meet all of the characters. At the Magic Kingdom®, Asia made a special trip to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, where her fairy godmother helped transform her into Belle from Beauty and the Beast with a beautiful gown, tiara and glittering hair and makeup.
After each long and exciting day as Disney royalty, Asia and her family retired to Give Kids the World Village – a special resort designed solely for wish families. While there, Asia met Mayor Clayton, the Village’s resident 6-foot-tall rabbit, got her face painted and went horseback riding. Her grandmother said the whole family felt 100 percent for those few days. “We didn’t want to leave. It was perfect. I wish we could go a second time.”
