The ultimate dream come true for 7-year-old Alby was being a pirate. He wanted nothing more than to go on a treasure hunt in the Caribbean. He enjoyed his wish, and more, when he traveled from his home in Tennessee to the beautiful islands of St. Thomas and St. John.
Alby and his family stayed in the La Papaya at Chocolate Hole villa, overlooking various bays and islands. A personal chef provided him and his family with gourmet food for the duration of their stay. The fun started when he took a ferry to St. Thomas, where he went ziplining above the rainforest canopy. He also enjoyed kayaking, paddle boarding, and just lounging on the beaches. Finally, the day came for his wish to be granted.
Alby was received at St. Thomas port by his crew of pirates, all ready to start the treasure hunt. This crowd was none other than the local Antilles High School drama students. They boarded an authentic pirate ship, which was donated for his wish, and were off. While sailing, Alby defeated the evil pirate captain and forced him overboard. He flew his flag triumphant, which he had personally designed during a stay in the hospital. Alby steered the ship to Water Island, where they took a dingy to shore and began the hunt. A crowd of people showed up to support Alby on his treasure hunt, all dressed in pirate garb. He followed clues on his treasure map to finally locate the buried treasure. This was a truly unique experience that Alby will not soon forget.
